This week I’m offering five costumes you can make at home with things you probably have or can get quickly. Find the others @austin360.com/raisingaustin.
Watch this video and see how we did it. (The instructions are also below.) Share your own DIY costumes #360Costumes.
White long-sleeved shirt
Black duct tape
Shower curtain rings
Black, white or gray headband
Spread out the shirt and pants flat. Use duct tape to make horizontal stripes on the front and back.
To make a ball and chain, hook a shower curtain ring into the foam ball. Attach other rings to the first ring. Attach the end ring to the headband. If you have non-silver rings, you can wrap the rings in aluminum foil. Wrap the ball in aluminum foil.
Variations: Make a Charlie Brown outfit using brown duct tape in a Chevron pattern on a yellow shirt. Make a bar code using a white shirt and black duct tape stripes going vertically.
