This whole spring forward thing has got to go! My children were pretty well useless yesterday. One made it to Sunday School an hour late (not because we didn’t know what time it was, but because there was an all and out protest over the time change.) The other was asleep in his room by 8, which felt like 7? We were so confused.

This morning was like waking up grizzly bears. So much roaring, so much teeth gnashing, so much swatting in the air to find the covers. Then you add the rain. Forget it. Who doesn’t want to go back in bed?

So I ask you, Congress, what’s the point of it? I know it was to help during war time so we could save a little money. But this is not 1942. We’re not working in bullet factors for Uncle Sam and we have energy efficient bulbs now. We also have cellphones that tell us what time it is, so we’re not basing our whole life on what time the sun comes up and what time it sets.

What we are is incredibly sleep-deprived this morning and angry about it.

Also, could you do something about the fact that all the good shows are on TV on Sunday nights at 8 p.m., making my DVR very full and leading to going to bed way too late even with or without a time change.

Love,

Nicole,on behalf of Ben and Ava
