This morning was a bit exhausting for everyone concerned. First, no one could fall asleep last night. I might have finally drifted off at 11:30. I thought the 14-year-old was asleep at 9, but then I heard him get up again around 10:30. The 11-year-old was safely in her bed at 9:15, but sleep eluded her until after midnight, she says.
This morning wasn’t pleasant, but it wasn’t horrible until we couldn’t find the Ava’s pencil pouch. Seriously, why wasn’t it in her backpack? Why didn’t we think to pack her bag last night? Why isn’t she flexible enough to take a new pencil pouch just this one day? We finally found it, but missed the bus.
How did your first day back go? And if you’re in school districts like Round Rock, enjoy this last day of sleeping in.
